Award-winning concert pianist Anton Mejias, who recently recorded a Bach album for Deutsche Grammophon, makes his debut as soloist with the Central Ostrobothnia Chamber Orchestra. Bach's piano concerto is complemented by two contemporary works: Damström's Fretus explores humanity's relationship with the sea, while Saariaho's Terra Memoria journeys through memory and the layers of the earth. The evening concludes with Mendelssohn's String Symphony No. 9.

The concert is conducted by Mojca Lavrencic, a Slovenian conductor and first-prize winner of the La Maestra conducting competition.
