The World's Richest Woman

Marianne Farrere is the world's richest woman - heiress to a cosmetics empire for whom money has lost all meaning. When Pierre-Alain (Laurent Lafitte), an almost-photographer and fortune seeker, enters her life, their acquaintance develops into a platonic romance. Marianne begins showering the photographer with millions, while her daughter (Marina Foïs) attempts with the help of lawyers and a butler to evict the suitor from her mother's bank account - without success.

The story is based on the scandal surrounding Liliane Bettencourt. Laurent Lafitte was awarded the César Prize for Best Actor for his role, and the lead is played by Isabelle Huppert.
