The World's Richest Woman

Marianne Farrere is the world's richest woman - a wealthy heiress to a cosmetics empire for whom money has lost all meaning and love cannot be bought. Everything changes when a pompous fortune-hunter, an almost-photographer named Pierre-Alain (Laurent Lafitte), enters her life - and his schemes never end.

Their acquaintance blossoms into a platonic romance, and Marianne begins lavishing millions on the photographer - it's worth it for the fun. Her daughter (Marina Foïs) tries with lawyers and a butler to keep the suitor away from the heiress's bank account, but to no avail.

The story is inspired by the Liliane Bettencourt scandal. Laurent Lafitte won the César Award for Best Actor for his role, and the lead part seems tailor-made for Isabelle Huppert.
