The World's Richest Woman

Marianne Farrere is the world's richest woman, heiress to a cosmetics empire, for whom money has lost all meaning - and cannot buy love. Everything changes when an arrogant drifter, would-be photographer Pierre-Alain (Laurent Lafitte), enters her world of wealth. Their acquaintance blossoms into a platonic romance, and Marianne begins lavishing millions on the photographer.

Her daughter (Marina Foïs) enlists lawyers and a butler to evict the suitor from the heiress's bank account - to no avail. The story draws inspiration from the real-life scandal surrounding Liliane Bettencourt. Laurent Lafitte won the César Award for Best Actor for his role, and the lead is played by Isabelle Huppert.
