Hallowed Lungs: Kimmo Pohjonen, Mikko Helenius & Tuomas Norvio

A return performance of the sold-out Hallowed Lungs production from January. The work is composed for accordion, organ and electronics, in which bodily breath, electrical current and massive air architecture engage in dialogue with one another.

The history of the instruments - the sanctity of the organ and the worldliness of the accordion - creates not a contradiction but a tension that generates a new space. Hallowed Lungs sanctifies what was previously meant to be excluded, and brings with it a longing to breathe clean air and a dream of peace.

The work continues the trio's collaboration that began in 2017 with the work Ultra Organ, which had its world premiere.
