Elli's Film Evening — Stoa, Helsinki

Elli's Film Evening showcases short dance films and invites discussion about the viewing experience. The programme consists of dance films created by the Myrskyryhmä dance group in collaboration with older adults, presented and moderated by community artist and dance educator Elli Isokoski.

The programme features three films:

Walk Alongside (2021), directed by Kati Kallio - The film explores lifelong friendship, the vitality of life, and loneliness. The story takes viewers from childhood through youth and working years into old age - all woven together by a mirror game.

The Cranes' Call (2022), directed by Vilma Tihilä - People walking in the forest hear the call of cranes and gather to follow it to a meadow. The film was created in collaboration with the Memory Association Muistijengis in Kanta-Häme, which wanted to create a sequel to Myrskyryhmä's earlier dance film The Crane.

Ode to Age (2025), directed by Kati Kallio - A dance film about older women who tire of life's dullness and embrace a carefree Finnish summer. The concept and script were developed in Idutus workshops through close collaboration with women aged 75-88.

Myrskyryhmä is a dance group active since 2002 that has developed participatory methods for dance filmmaking together with dance filmmaker Kati Kallio and older adults since 2010.
