Open Doors at the Children's Literature Institute in Tampere

To celebrate Tampere Day, the Children's Literature Institute opens its doors to everyone. During your visit, you can explore the book collection, browse childhood favorites, or search together with children and young people for new reading material. Books are not lent out, but can be read freely on site. The institute also sells postcards based on children's book illustrations and other publications.

The Children's Literature Institute library is Finland's only specialized library for children's and young adult literature, with a collection of approximately 80,000 volumes - new and old children's and young adult books as well as research literature in the field. The special collections include, among other things, Tove Jansson's home library and an extensive collection of children's book illustration art.
