Chloé Zhao is a Chinese-born American film director and screenwriter. She gained wide recognition with The Rider (2017) and won the Academy Award for Best Director for Nomadland (2021) - only the second woman ever to receive that honour. Her films often blend a documentary-like visual approach with fictional storytelling.
