Colin Firth (born 10 September 1960, Grayshott, Hampshire) is an English actor and producer whose career spans stage, television and film. He broke through as Mr Darcy in the BBC's 1995 Pride and Prejudice, then won the Academy Award, a Golden Globe and two BAFTAs for The King's Speech (2010). His films have grossed over $3 billion worldwide, and in 2011 he was appointed CBE for services to drama.
Firth stars in Steven Spielberg's sci-fi thriller Disclosure Day, released in US cinemas on 12 June 2026, alongside Emily Blunt and Josh O'Connor.
Firth joined Apple TV's Berlin Noir adaptation opposite Jack Lowden, playing detective Paul Lohser; the series was filming in Berlin at the time of announcement.
Firth appeared in Guy Ritchie's Young Sherlock series on Prime Video, which launched in March 2026.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, in which Firth reprises Mark Darcy in flashback form, was released on 13 February 2025 and grossed $140.4 million worldwide.
Firth led the five-part limited series Lockerbie: A Search for Truth, which premiered on Peacock and Sky Atlantic on 2 January 2025.
