Crispin Hellion Glover (born 1964, New York City) is an American actor, filmmaker, author and artist who broke through as George McFly in Back to the Future (1985) and has since built a parallel career as an avant-garde auteur. He founded his own production and publishing company, Volcanic Eruptions, and directs art films - What Is It? (2005), It Is Fine! Everything Is Fine. (2007) and No! YOU'RE WRONG. or: Spooky Action at a Distance (2025) - which he tours personally rather than releasing through conventional distribution. On screen he has played memorably odd characters across nearly eighty films and the Starz series American Gods (2017-2021).
Glover's third feature film No! YOU'RE WRONG. or: Spooky Action at a Distance had its world premiere at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City on October 2, 2025.
Glover launched a live touring run with the new film, appearing in person for a slide show, screening, Q&A and book signing at venues across the US.
Glover starred in the horror film A Blind Bargain (2025), shot on Super 16mm film.
Glover's father, actor Bruce Glover, died on March 12, 2025, aged 92; Crispin announced the death on Instagram on March 29.
Glover appeared in the surrealist drama Mr. K, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2024.
