Europe is a Swedish hard rock band formed in Upplands Väsby in 1979, fronted by vocalist Joey Tempest alongside guitarist John Norum, bassist John Leven, keyboardist Mic Michaeli and drummer Ian Haugland. The band broke through globally with the 1986 album 'The Final Countdown', whose title track reached number one in 25 countries and has since surpassed 1.4 billion YouTube views. After splitting in 1992, they reunited in 2004 and have toured and recorded steadily ever since, earning a Classic Rock Award and a Swedish Grammis along the way.
Europe announced 'The Final Countdown 40th Anniversary Tour' for September-October 2026, covering 19 concerts across 12 countries, with the album performed in full each night.
Europe's 12th studio album, recorded at RMV Studios in Stockholm in October 2025 with producer Tom Dalgety, is scheduled for release in September 2026.
