Frank Lee Beard (born June 11, 1949, Frankston, Texas) is the co-founding drummer of ZZ Top, the Texas blues-rock trio he has anchored since 1969. Somewhat ironically for a band defined by its long beards, Beard is the only member who has never grown one. ZZ Top sold over 50 million albums worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, with Beard's tight, groove-driven drumming at the core of hits like 'Sharp Dressed Man' and 'Gimme All Your Lovin''.
Beard returned to ZZ Top's Elevation Tour in September 2025 after missing most of August due to a second undisclosed medical issue that year.
ZZ Top extended the Elevation Tour into late November 2025, adding over a dozen North American dates with Beard back behind the kit.
