Henk Hofstede (born 1951, Amsterdam) is the founder, lead singer, guitarist and principal songwriter of the Dutch pop group Nits, which he co-founded in 1974. Over five decades the band has released more than 30 albums, moving freely between new wave, art pop and experimental rock while keeping Hofstede's literary, image-driven lyrics at the centre. Their 1983 single 'Nescio' and the 1987 hit 'In the Dutch Mountains' brought the band recognition well beyond the Netherlands.
