Josén Pimeä Puoli is a Helsinki-based Finnish trio that moves between pop, jazz and noir - fronted by singer-pianist Jose Mäenpää, who also plays trumpet in the jazz ensemble Dalindèo. The band, completed by bassist Arto Nurmi and drummer Jussi Miettola, has released two albums: the debut Ihanasti kyyninen (2018) and Ohikulkija (2024), the latter also issued on vinyl in 2025. Their lyrics face the darker sides of life with dry humour and honesty, and the group has built a strong reputation as a live act.
Josén Pimeä Puoli is booked to play Tavastia in Helsinki on 2 October 2026.
The band released the single 'Sellainen' on 26 September 2025, the first preview of their forthcoming third album.
The 'Hyppää Kyytiin' concert hall tour launched in autumn 2025, starting in Lappeenranta on 3 October.
The second album Ohikulkija (2024) was issued on vinyl in 2025.
The band toured extensively in summer 2025, gaining a growing following as a live act.
