Jouni Kalervo Hynynen (born 15 February 1970 in Joutseno) is the vocalist, guitarist and primary lyricist of Kotiteollisuus, a heavy metal and hard rock band from Lappeenranta that he co-founded in 1991. Under his creative lead the band has released 18 studio albums, earned two Emma awards and built a reputation as one of Finland's most enduring metal acts. Beyond music, Hynynen has published eight books ranging from column collections to poetry, and has appeared on Finnish television.
Kotiteollisuus released their 18th studio album 'Susirajalla' on 27 September 2024, produced by Mikko Karmila.
Kotiteollisuus is scheduled to perform at the Heviranta festival in Ikaalinen on 16 August 2025, alongside Stratovarius and Arion.
Kotiteollisuus announced 2026 tour dates including shows in Tampere, Lappeenranta, Jyväskylä and Helsinki.
Kotiteollisuus ran an extensive autumn 2025 tour across Finland celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album '7'.
