About

Kneecap is a hip-hop trio from West Belfast, Northern Ireland, formed in 2017 by Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí. They rap in a mix of Irish and English, weaving working-class Belfast youth culture, Irish republicanism and language rights into a sound that draws on US hip-hop, rave and Irish rebel music. Their 2024 self-titled semi-biographical film - the first Irish-language film to premiere at Sundance - won a BAFTA, and their second album Fenian (May 2026), produced by Dan Carey, received universal critical acclaim.
