About

Lisette Oropesa is a Cuban-American lyric coloratura soprano born in New Orleans in 1983, whose career spans the world's leading opera houses - the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Wiener Staatsoper, Opéra National de Paris and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. She is particularly celebrated for her bel canto roles, above all Violetta in La traviata and Lucia di Lammermoor, and has earned major international prizes including the International Opera Awards' Female Singer of the Year (2024) and the French title of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
