About

Nits (known until 1989 as The Nits) are a Dutch art rock group founded in Amsterdam in 1974, with singer-songwriter and guitarist Henk Hofstede at the centre throughout their career. Their sound has shifted considerably over five decades - from melodic power pop to cabaret-tinged art rock and more experimental territory - while their live shows have built a devoted cult following across Europe. With over 20 studio albums and international hits such as "In the Dutch Mountains" (1987) and "Nescio" (1983), they remain one of the most consistently creative bands the Netherlands has produced.
