About

Skifflepapat is a Finnish band from Jyväskylä, operating under the registered association Skifflepappojen Tukiyhdistys ry since 2016. The five members - V-P Turpeinen, Arto Lepistö, Aimo Tarvainen, Hannu Korhonen and Tapani Iltola - collectively started playing in various bands as far back as the 1950s, giving the group an average age well over 70. Their repertoire spans ragtime, swing, jazz, rock, blues and country, and they are known as a lively live act at community events, festivals and private functions across Central Finland.

  • 2024-12

    Skifflepapat performed at the packed Piippuranta club Christmas party in Jyväskylä in late November 2024.

  • 2024-10

    The band played at Kortteliklubi in Jyväskylä on 27 September 2024, entertaining a large audience at the city-run community venue.

  • 2025-02

    Skifflepapat appeared at the Eläkkeensaajaviikko (Pensioners' Week) event at Aalto-sali in Jyväskylä in February 2025.

  • 2023-08

    The band was invited to perform at the Korpilahti Palvipäivät festival at the Korpilahti harbour area in July 2023.

  • 2023-05

    Skifflepapat performed alongside the Metsot male choir, with highlights including their versions of 'Kuin helminauhaa' and 'Ievan polkka'.
