Stratovarius is a Finnish power metal band founded in Helsinki in 1984, originally under the name Black Water. Over sixteen studio albums - from the raw debut Fright Night (1989) through genre-defining classics like Visions (1997) and Infinite (2000) to the 2022 comeback Survive - the band has shaped the sound of European power metal and built a global fanbase across four decades. Singer Timo Kotipelto, the longest-serving current member, has fronted the band since 1994.
