Vaasa Baroque is an early music organization founded in 2013 in Vaasa, Finland, by soprano and doctor of music Kajsa Dahlbäck, who serves as its artistic director. The organization runs the Vaasa Baroque Ensemble - a group of local professional musicians and singers from Ostrobothnia - as well as the internationally active chamber ensemble Earthly Angels. Over the years it has staged several Finnish premieres of Baroque operas and staged works, and regularly collaborates with the Vaasa City Orchestra and visiting ensembles from across Europe.
Vaasa Baroque announced the 'Breaking Baroque' production for September 2026, combining baroque music with street and show dance under choreographer Jenna Linnolahti, with performances in Vaasa and across Ostrobothnia.
Vaasa Baroque Ensemble performed Heinrich Schütz's 'Musikalische Exequien' at Vaasa Church on 25 October 2025, and also appeared at the Parainen Baroque festival the following day.
