Vertavo String Quartet is a Norwegian ensemble founded in Hamar in 1984 - three of its four members are original founders, making it likely the world's longest-running all-female string quartet. The group has performed at Wigmore Hall, Concertgebouw and Carnegie Hall, won the Grieg Prize (2005) and swept all three prizes at the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition (1995), and since 2016 has run its own festival, Vertavofestivalen, in Norway.
