Sketchbook & Drawing Workshops

In the workshop we draw in a beautiful, picturesque landscape and focus on observation. We freely experiment with different tools and styles. What matters most is not the final result - but the process, the insights, and your own creative development.

Presence with the sketchbook and listening to intuition during the drawing process are things emphasized in the workshop. The focus is on an open creative process where the final result is not always known in advance. Through drawing we learn to be present and observe the drawing process with curiosity. Drawing is always also a path inward that keeps the channel open.

In the workshop we value drawing itself. The image is allowed to take shape and the process guides itself. In sketchbook work there is the possibility to experiment, repeat, and be uncertain. There is no failure; you can always start over.

Three of the four mornings begin with a short theory session, followed by drawing. The workshop is conversational, present, calm, and a safe space to pause, draw, and share thoughts. The workshop is led by illustrator and visual artist Ulrika Ylioja.

Suitable for all levels. Bring a sketchbook, drawing tools, food, and weather-appropriate clothing.
