Writer Tomi Kontio visits Myllypuro Library as a guest during Helsinki Day.
Kontio (born 1966) is an author from eastern Helsinki and father of five children. His debut work, the poetry collection "Under the Dance Palace Sky", was published in 1993 and won the award for best debut of the year. Since then, Kontio has written over thirty books - poetry and prose for both children and adults. In 2025, his novella "A Dog Named Cat" won the Finlandia Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature and is also set in eastern Helsinki.
During the visit, Kontio discusses his works and writing career in an interview. Free admission, no advance registration required.
