Rainbow History Walking Tour
Helsingin kaupunginmuseo, Helsinki
A guided walking tour exploring early 20th-century Helsinki from the perspective of LGBTQ+ people. The tour departs from the Old Church Park area (in front of the church, on the park side) and ends at Observatory Hill. The tour lasts a maximum of 1.5 hours and costs 13 € per ticket.
The tour examines what opportunities the city offered to people whose sexuality or gender did not fit the norms of the time, how men who loved men found each other during an era when same-sex relations were a crime, and why Esplanade Park in particular was known as Helsinki's most vibrant gay park.
Tours often fill up quickly, so it is recommended to purchase your ticket in advance. More information and tickets: Rainbow History Walking Tour 17.6.2026.
