Welcome to a rainbow history walking tour! The guided tour starts at the Old Cemetery and ends at Observatory Hill.

During the tour, we explore early 20th-century Helsinki from the perspective of rainbow people. What opportunities did Helsinki offer to those whose sexuality or gender did not fit the narrow norms of the time? How did men who loved men find each other in an era when same-sex relations were a crime? Why was Esplanade Park Helsinki's most vibrant gay park?
