Architecture Walk: Modern Helsinki

Join us for an in-depth exploration of Helsinki's modernism!

On the "Modern Helsinki" architecture walk, we examine the aesthetics, materials, and social conditions that shaped the development of modern architecture in Helsinki from the 1930s to 2018.

During the walk, you will discover the city centre's fascinating office buildings, department stores, educational buildings, and other public structures.

The architecture walks are written by experts from the Museum of Architecture and Design and led by museum guides who are well-versed in the themes of each route.

The walks are part of the summer 2026 open architecture programme to Helsinki's most fascinating residential areas.
