Guided tour of Suomenlinna in English

An English-language walking tour that introduces the history and present-day Suomenlinna. Construction that began in 1748 gradually grew into one of the largest population centres in what was then Sweden - first as a base for the Swedish archipelago fleet, then for 115 years under Russian administration.

The tour visits the fortress's main attractions, including the Great Fortress Courtyard and what was once the world's largest dry dock. The guided tour also includes free admission to the Ehrensvärd Museum during museum hours.

In summer 2026, tours are held daily from June 1 to August 31 at 10:30, 12:30 and 14:30. The starting point is the Suomenlinna Museum. Duration 1 hour, tickets 6-16 €. The tour is conducted in English.
