PORTTITEATERI:
TRACES - A Documentary Performance About the Memory of Our Bodies
TRACES is Porttiteatteri's documentary work about the bodies of released prisoners and people with criminal backgrounds who have endured hardship and carry the marks of life on the road. It is a performance about beating hearts, scars and wounds, but also about strength, pleasure and care. How does one dare to lean on another? How does one fall and rise again? The performance is a journey. It is a slap in the face to mythical heroes, to those who return home.
Porttiteatteri is a community theatre for released prisoners, people with criminal backgrounds, and professional artists. Its documentary performances can be seen as social statements in which the world is viewed through the eyes of released prisoners.
