The uncrowned king of alternative schlager Topi Saha has awakened from his slumber. The new album Öitä was released on 31.1.2025. "Öitä is an album that had to be made at least twice. At the start of the album work, I imposed certain prohibitions and restrictions on myself related to songwriting, so I wouldn't get stuck repeating myself. The prohibitions concerned certain minor keys and individual words like 'dark' and 'dusk'. I actually wrote a whole album of pleasant and bright American schlager, until darkness began pushing through doors and windows. I threw the finished songs in the trash and decided to empty the prohibition by making an album where every song tells about and only about the night. About private and shared dusk. About cliffs and rogues. About falling and rising. And of course about love and longing," Saha explains.

Topi Saha is a captivating songwriter who has previously released four solo albums praised by critics. The atmospheric new album Öitä came out in January 2025. The album, produced by Julius Mauranen (including Oranssi Pazuzu, Viitasen Piia), is a hypnotic soundtrack from evening dusk to midnight's pitch darkness. Somewhere a faint light glimmers.
