Teatterikesä OFF: Macbeth Sun 9.8. at 15:00

A musical tragedy based on William Shakespeare's classic play, with music ranging from dark viola melodies to razor-sharp guitar solos. A live band accompanies the performance, and tragedy walks hand in hand with comedy.

War hero Macbeth meets three witches whose prophecies drive him and Lady Macbeth to unforgivable deeds - which they nonetheless forgive each other for. After seizing power, the paranoid Macbeth sees enemies everywhere, and perhaps with reason: in the Scottish realm ruled by a mentally unstable tyrant, unrest seethes. The witches walk among the people and hasten the story toward its brutal end.

The estimated duration of the performance is 2 hours 40 minutes including intermission.

In the Sunday 9.8. performance, either Kalle Koskinen or Aleksanteri Pietikäinen plays Macbeth, and Iita Ojala or Kiia Heikkilä plays Lady Macbeth.

Accessibility: The theatre space is inaccessible due to numerous stairs and thresholds, and there is no hearing loop. Companion ticket is free - indicate your companion when booking. The theatre has gender-neutral restrooms and one restroom with a changing table and potty.
