Tuesday Meditation
ilmainen
In this Tuesday meditation session, we explore body-mind awareness through direct physical experience, strengthen our capacity for immersion and concentration, and learn to relax deeply. Throughout the autumn, we gently become acquainted with the subtle energy flows in the body, and participants are invited to practice exercises that cultivate compassion and other mental strengths.
The benefits of regular body-based meditation include reduced stress and sleep problems, increased body awareness, improved concentration, and a greater ability to live a life that feels meaningful.
The practices draw from the Buddhist tradition, and we discuss their background to some extent. We approach meditation with our own reason and experience as the primary tools - the aim is not to adopt a new belief system or ideology. The instructor is musician and composer Kalle Ylitalo, who has ten years of experience practicing daily pragmatic dharma and Buddhist meditation.
Participation is free. The session begins with a guided practice, followed by group discussion. The duration is approximately one and a half hours, but you can leave at any time if needed. The space has chairs, and you can also bring your own meditation cushion.
