The World's Richest Woman

Marianne Farrere is the world's richest woman, heiress to a cosmetics empire, for whom money has lost all meaning - and love cannot be bought with it. The situation changes when an arrogant social climber, an almost-photographer named Pierre-Alain (Laurent Lafitte), enters her world of wealth.

Their acquaintance blossoms into a platonic romance, and Marianne begins giving millions to the photographer. Her daughter (Marina Foïs) attempts, with the help of lawyers and a butler, to evict the suitor from the heiress's bank account - to no avail.

The story is inspired by the Liliane Bettencourt scandal. Laurent Lafitte was awarded the César Prize for Best Actor for his role, and the lead is played by Isabelle Huppert.
