Starting a Business Info
ilmainen
Business Helsinki hosts an English-language webinar for those considering starting a business. The session covers the first steps of entrepreneurship in Finland: business structures (light entrepreneurship, sole proprietorship, limited company), required permits and insurance, basics of taxation and VAT, and the importance of a business plan.
Toward the end of the session, a representative from Helsinki's employment services will discuss the startup grant - who can apply for it and under what conditions. Note: do not begin primary business operations before submitting your support application to the employment authorities.
The introductory section lasts approximately 45 minutes including questions, and the entire session runs for about 90 minutes total. The platform is Microsoft Teams. The session is free and will not be recorded, but presentation materials will be shared with participants. The Teams link will be sent by email the day before the event and again just before it starts - remember to check your spam and Promotions folders.
After the session, you can book a time for free business consultation with Business Helsinki. If you need help with your business plan and calculations, Business Helsinki also offers a separate web training course - the next Business Plan and Calculations Training is on August 25.
