Senior Quarter Detailed Plan Amendment in Vuosaari

The presentation of the detailed plan amendment for the Senior Quarter in Vuosaari and a scale model are on display at Vuotalo from 17.8 to 4.9. An open discussion meeting on the topic is held on 26.8 from 15.30 to 18.00.

The goal of the plan amendment is to place a mainly 6-storey senior centre at the edge of Mosaic Square in central Vuosaari. Vuosaari is one of Helsinki's largest districts by population, and the area's ageing population structure requires its own senior centre near key services and connections. A procurement process for the design and implementation of the senior centre will be conducted in autumn 2026.

Public areas at the western and eastern ends of the block offer planting surfaces and a stairway connection linking Mosaic Square and Tyynylaavantie. The temporary parking obligation at Tyynylaavantie 15 is located within the plan boundary; the detailed plan's goal is to enable parking spaces to be located on a separate plot in accordance with current parking calculation guidelines.
