Book Release: Sibelius' Day of Reckoning 1943 - The Composer's Relationship with Nazi Germany

Philosopher and author Antti Vihinen presents his new book Sibelius' Day of Reckoning 1943, which examines Jean Sibelius' connections to Nazi Germany.

The work reveals internal power struggles within the Nazi regime in which Sibelius was also involved, and brings previously unpublished documents related to the subject to light for the first time. Vihinen is joined in conversation by musicology docent and senior lecturer Juha Torvinen.

The book release takes place on Friday, August 28 at 4 p.m. on the Saarikoski mat in Odi. The event is organized by publishing company Vastapaino.
