Urban Orienteering Kuopio 2026
Itä-Suomen yliopiston ylioppilaskunta, Kuopio
Urban orienteering is a fun team competition for UEF students, where teams move around Kuopio and visit checkpoint stations organized by student organizations and clubs to complete various tasks. The orienteering starts from Kuopio market square at 17.00 after the LoveZone academic year opening.
First-year students participate free of charge, while older students can register for paid starts in limited numbers (30 € / 6 people, includes orienteering pass and overall badges). The overall badge serves as an entrance ticket to the after-parties - also prepare for a cloakroom fee.
Registration - new students
The tutor (or someone from the first-year group if the tutor is not participating) registers the team in Kide.app from Tuesday 1.9. at 15.00 - registration closes on Wednesday 2.9. at 12.00. In Kide.app, the number of tickets corresponds to the number of teams; the team size is specified in the ticket's additional information form. If you register a team of 10 students, purchase one ticket and select size 10 from the dropdown menu. A first-year team can have a maximum of 10 people, plus a tutor (10 + 1-2 tutors). You can also register for the event by contacting community coordinator Eveliina Scharin: yk(at)isyy.fi.
The person who registered the team collects the orienteering package during week 36 (2.-3.9.) from ISYY's office at Lukema (C-door in the Studentia building) during office hours. The package contains an orienteering pass and overall badge for each team member. The orienteering map is available electronically and in paper form upon request.
Registration - older students
Registration in Kide.app begins on Tuesday 1.9. at 15.00 and closes on Wednesday 2.9. at 12.00. You can also register at ISYY's office when Kide.app sales open. One person registers the entire team - places are limited. Collection of the orienteering package works the same way as for first-year teams (see above).
