City Orienteering Joensuu 2026

City orienteering is a fun team competition where teams visit checkpoint stations around the city and complete various tasks. The orienteering starts from Joensuu Market Square at 17:00 immediately after the Student Blast academic year opening. The evening concludes with an after-party at Las Palmas Kimmel.

⭐ Registration - New Students ⭐

A tutor (or a member of the freshman group if the tutor doesn't participate) registers the freshman group via the Kide.app application. The number of tickets corresponds to the number of registered teams - the team size is specified in the ticket's additional information form. If you register a team of 10 students, purchase one ticket and select team size as 10. The maximum size for a freshman team is 10 people, plus tutors (10 + 1-2 tutors). Freshman teams participate free of charge.

Registration opens on Tuesday 1.9. at 15:00 and closes on Wednesday 2.9. at 12:00. You can also register by contacting community coordinator Eveliina Scharin (yk(at)isyy.fi) once Kide.app sales open.

The person who registers the team collects the orienteering package during week 36 (2.-3.9.) from the ISYY office (Suvantokatu 6) during office hours. The package includes an orienteering pass and an overall badge for each team member. The overall badge serves as an admission ticket to the after-party. The orienteering map is available electronically and on paper upon request.

For continuing students, a limited number of paid entries are available. A team spot (6 people) costs 30 €, and the price includes an orienteering pass and overall badges for all six members.
