Aurea Tanttu: Oil Painting Course in English - Ages 13-16, Born 2010-2013

Oil painting course taught in English for teenagers aged 13-16 (born 2010-2013). The course is taught by Finnish artist Aurea Tanttu (MFA, Konstfack; BFA, University of the Arts London).

Over 13 sessions, the course covers both technical and experimental aspects of painting: canvas stretching, colour theory, colour mixing, painting from observation and photographs, and composition. Each session begins with approximately 10 minutes of art history overview, and students are encouraged to explore works by other artists. Each session lasts 2 hours and 15 minutes. Additionally, a short visit to a museum or artist's studio takes place on October 9th.

The course uses water-soluble oil paints, painting medium, brushes, charcoal, paper, canvas, and gesso - all materials are included in the course fee. During the course, students will complete approximately 3-4 oil paintings and several drawings, which they keep.
