Drug Policy Reading Circle: Children of Subutex City
ilmainen
The reading circle from the organization Humane Drug Policy meets at Kallio Library on August 12 at 5 p.m. New members are welcome, and you don't need to have read the book beforehand.
The focus is on Laura Juntunen's non-fiction book Children of Subutex City, which follows Henkka from Raahe - a man who has used drugs for nearly 20 years and is now trying to get clean again. The work depicts up close a life where drug problems, social exclusion, and criminality are passed down as a legacy between generations.
At the autumn opening meeting, we will decide together which books the reading circle will read going forward. The aim is to read primarily Finnish non-fiction books on drug policy topics.
We meet in the library's accessible group room Otso (1st floor). Remote participation is also possible - register by email: hpp@hppry.fi.
