Mexico A Cappella

Mexico's embassy in Finland presents Mexico A Cappella, a concert featuring the Celaya Conservatory vocal octet performing Mexican folk music a cappella. The programme includes well-known songs from across Mexico: El Jarabe Tapatío, Guadalajara, Cielito Lindo and La Bamba.

Founded in September 2023, the octet comprises young singers with international performance experience. The ensemble features Marisol Núñez (soprano), Ivette Ramírez (soprano), Jharetty Guerrero (alto), Stephanie García (alto), Miguel Yáñez (tenor), Eduardo Fuentes (tenor) and Efraín Felipe (bass) - directed by and featuring Antonio García-Aguilar on bass. The octet has performed in Austria, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Italy, Canada and the Netherlands, and the Helsinki concert is part of a tour that extends to Sweden as well.
