TaYT Summer Gallery 14.8. at 20:00

TaYT Summer Gallery™ is an approximately one-hour performance where four separate small productions are woven together. The shows use both theatre and video art. Performances take place on several evenings: Sun 2.8. at 18:00, Fri 14.8. at 20:00, Sat 15.8. at 18:00, and Sat 5.9. at 18:00. After the final performance on 5.9., a celebration is held (Summer Gallery goes Summer Party), with the bar open and music playing - more details to follow.

The programme features four works:

Video: I Keep My Distance - A video work exploring loneliness and the longing for connection. Direction and cinematography: Saara Vuotila and Salomo Määttä. Performers: Saara Vuotila, Salomo Määttä, Aku Soininen.

Play: The Ripper - A work examining the story of serial killer Jack the Ripper and his victims, jumping between past and present. Three actors break the fourth wall and reinterpret events. Content warnings: death, sexual violence, references to child death, violence. Performers: Iita Ojala, Niila Nousiainen, Sara Nurmi.

Play: Cabin Trip - A play about a group of friends taking a break, where city meets countryside, anxiety meets avoidance, and tension meets desire. Screenplay: Kiia Heikkilä. Direction: Sanni Huttunen. Performers: Fadoua Laouini, Seela Sinnemäki, Tessa Kiviniemi, Josefiina Uuranmäki, Saara Vuotila, Kiia Heikkilä, Kasper Hulkkonen, Ida Rantanen.

Video: People Have Left the Place - A video work exploring what traces we leave on empty surfaces. Direction: Sakari Maliniemi. Performers: Mira Nurmi, Niila Nousiainen.
