Sirkka Kosunen's autobiographical debut novel Tulen illalla, jos pääsen addresses intimate partner violence and recovery.

Kosunen describes her book as follows: "In the novel, Päivänkakkara, standing at the threshold of adulthood, ventures without prejudice into the mystical world of trolls. At first, she is captivated by the cultural differences, but over time, life with a troll from another culture becomes hell. Violence escalates and threatens Päivänkakkara's life. Yet her feet remain firmly on the ground, and she finds ways to survive and deliberately extracts herself from the torturous relationship.
