Philosophy Café Stoa

At Stoa's philosophy café, fundamental questions about what it means to be human are discussed over autumn 2026 while enjoying coffee or tea. Each session begins with a brief philosophical introduction, after which participants explore questions and insights arising from the topic through shared thinking. The specific themes for each meeting are chosen together by the participants.

The autumn 2026 discussions are led by philosophy practitioner and non-fiction author FM Severi Hämäri. He has written the work "12 filosofia - Muinaisten filosofien suuria oivalluksia" (Aviador 2026), lectures on the history of philosophy at the Helsinki Workers' Institute, and has facilitated the Sokrates Café at Munkkiniemi Library for over a decade.
