Agorafonia

Agorafonia is a collaborative work by Emmi Kaasalainen, Iina Johanson and Sebastian López-Lehdo that combines sound and movement. The starting point is embodied research conducted in urban spaces - parks, bridges, metal staircases and streets have left traces that the work transforms into raw material for a four-part composition.

The structure moves between composed and improvised: the resonances of the space, polyphony and the performers' dispersal and encounters together form a living whole. The work's title references the ancient Greek agora (public gathering place), the Portuguese word agora ("now") and the consonance of sound (-phony).

At Vapaan taiteen tila on 14.8.2026 from 18.00 to 19.00. Free admission. Doors close 10 minutes after the performance begins. The performance may contain unexpected and loud sounds.
