A lecture series exploring how composers have created feelings of fear, threat, and the supernatural through music - in concert halls, operas, and stage works.
The techniques discussed include harmony, rhythm, timbre, dynamic extremes, and silence: how these elements generate unease and tension. The lectures cover horror in opera music and horror in vocal and programme music.
Facade renovation of the Opistotalo building may cause disruptions and changes to classes.
