Kauppakadun Improbatur 2026

The Kauppakadun Improt events organized by student union SAVOTTA take over Kauppakatu in Kuopio for the nineteenth time on Tuesday, 22.9.2026 starting at 16:00. The event is designed for students who want to spend time in a larger group - nearly 1,000 improvisers are expected to visit the restaurants on Kauppakatu.

You can participate either as a team of 3-4 people or as a solo performer. The idea is to dress in a coordinated themed costume, collect visit and purchase stamps from the restaurants, and participate in the restaurants' competitions. The improv evening concludes with an after-party at the warehouse restaurant Albatross, where MOUHOUS takes the stage.

Members of the winning team in the team competition receive DJI Osmo Pocket 3 video cameras. Solo performers can win the same prize through a solo pass raffle. More information about other team and solo competition prizes can be found on the website.
