The Syrjäseutu-Vilimit film festival takes place in Kuopio 24-27.9.2026. The main venue is Kino Kuvakukko, Vuorikatu 27 (330-seat hall, Kuopio's largest cinema). AAVESOURI blends wuxia action, romance, and Evil Dead-style horror (1981). The story follows an unlucky debt collector Ning Choi-san (Leslie Cheung) who spends the night in a crumbling temple on a remote mountain - and soon discovers that the surrounding nature conceals more than peace and beauty. The opening features a newly digitally restored print, shown in Kuopio for the first time.
