Author Elli Salo in Conversation
vapaa pääsy
Elli Salo is a writer, dramaturg, and translator, and serves as resident author at the National Theatre. During her visit, she discusses her debut novel Keräilijät, which was nominated for the Finlandia Prize in 2025.
The novel is set at a campsite in Kainuu, where life revolves around bear photography and passing tourists. The place is run by photographer Ani and her circle of characters - librarian Ljudmila from Kostamus and a German shepherd who served in the border guard. When archaeologist Heini arrives to investigate wartime heritage, excavating the past draws the entire group into uncontrollable circumstances. (Otava)
Salo is interviewed by Dr. Hanna Karhu, a literature researcher. The event is organized in collaboration with Malmi Library. Free admission.
