Tremors

The Syrjäseutu-Vilimit film festival takes place in Kuopio 24-27 September 2026. On Friday 25 September at 21:00, Tremors (USA 1990, directed by Ron Underwood) will be screened. The organizer is the regional film centre ISAK rf, with the main venue at Kino Kuvakukko, Vuorikatu 27, Kuopio (330 seats).

Tremors is a science fiction horror-comedy in which desert town workers (Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward) must battle giant killer worms. The film relies on old-school practical special effects and reached theatres just before computer effects became widespread. Originally a modest box-office success, but cult status was cemented through video rental releases.

The screening is from a KUVI 35mm print. English-language with Finnish subtitles. K16. 97 min. Tickets 10 €.
