Baby's Day at Lippulaiva Library

Baby's Day is celebrated on 25 September at Lippulaiva Library in Espoo. The event is free and aimed at families with young children. The programme includes concerts, a light bath, and a poetry bath - plus tips for creative activities at home and among the city's cultural services.

10.00-10.30 | Tapiola Sinfonietta String Quartet: Pötköttelykonsertti | Salon
Tapiola Sinfonietta's string quartet performs a roughly half-hour concert of familiar classics and other pieces. The music can be enjoyed while lying on mats or sitting in a parent's lap. Suitable for all children and adults.

10.30-11.00 | Baby's Poetry Bath | Salon
Poems and nursery rhymes in the baby's own mother tongue - playful rhymes and the rhythm of poetry demonstrably develop the baby's brain. Age recommendation 4 months - 1 year. Facilitator: Pirkko Ilmanen, Espoo City Library.

11.15-12.00 | Light Bath | Salon
In colourful shadows and mirrors, light is explored on a non-stop basis. Age recommendation 4-14 months. Facilitator: Jenni Vilander, Aurora Children's Culture Centre.

10.00-12.00 | Meeting Corridor | Library's central plaza near the family area
Besides library staff, the parish, residents' park, and community centre are present.

The event is organised by KulttuuriEspoo's children's culture actors: Espoo City Library, Aurora Children's Culture Centre, and Tapiola Sinfonietta. The event is part of the national Baby's Day.
